Interrelationships between Land Use Land Cover (LULC) and Human Thermal Comfort (HTC): A Comparative Analysis of Different Spatial Settings

چکیده
A few studies on outdoor human thermal comfort (HTC) have been conducted in the tropical region a hot and humid climate; however, there is paucity of discussions how exactly different spatial settings influence HTC. Thus, this paper aims to examine land use cover (LULC) affects HTC basis simulation Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) Physiologically Equivalent Temperature (PET) indices via ENVI-met Rayman. The results reveal that people living urban area higher tendency experience strong heat stress (25% areas with PMV ranging from 3.4 3.9 2% areas, where reached 4.1), followed by rural (43% 2.1 2.4), suburban (more than 50% values less 2.4). Surprisingly, concrete LULC suburb exhibits air temperature an asphalt surface at 4 p.m., due large high albedo increases reflection solar radiation, subsequently contributing warming up airmass. Similarly, sandy, loamy tend emit more during nighttime, while absorbed slowly daytime, it then released nighttime after 6 p.m. Spatial promote are mainly contributed asphalt, concrete, areas. Meanwhile, likely stress, agricultural plantations lowland forest provide shade, except for barren lands-loamy result also indicates tree-covered near river afforded best PET 30.7. From comparison, pivotal consider tree species (canopy density), material (albedo), sky-view factor, wind direction, speed toward designing comfortable sustainable environment.

Land cover land use mapping and change detection analysis using geographic information system and remote sensing
Land cover/land use categories are relevant components in land management. Understanding how land cover/land use change over time is necessary to assess the consequences of humans and natural stressors on the earth’s environment and resources. The aim of the study was to map and monitor the spatial and temporal change in land cover/land use for the periods of 1977, 1991 and 2016 and to predict ...
متن کاملSpatial simulation for translating from land use to land cover
An approach to simulating land-cover patterns based on historical land-use maps and forecasts based on models and planning documents is described and demonstrated. The approach uses stochastic spatial simulation to generate land-cover patterns on the basis of a land-use map and stated translation rules. The translation rules take the form of (1) a table that summarizes the proportions of each l...

متن کاملA comparative analysis on the results of different methods in assessment land use mix in Mashhad
In recent years, land use mix has become an important issue of research in urban studies. One of the important issues related to land use mix is how to measure it in urban areas. Given that many studies have assumed land use mix as an independent variable affecting other urban life dimensions, Therefore, how it is measured is crucial for achieving reliable results. The purpose of this researc...

Accurate and up-to-date global land cover data sets are necessary for various global change research studies including climate change, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem assessment, and environmental modeling. In recent years, substantial advancement has been achieved in generating such data products. Yet, we are far from producing geospatially consistent high-quality data at an operational l...
